Elementary School Parents,
Big City University is a high-quality after school grant-funded program that Bradley County Schools has been operating for 20 years. Students are transported from their home schools to North Cleveland Baptist church Monday-Thursday with staggered pick-up times from 5:30-6:00 PM. Parents are responsible for the pick-up of their students each afternoon along with attending mandatory Parent Meetings and Community Events. The program will operate during the normal school schedule.
While at BCU, students spend their time rotating through tutoring, homework completion, physical education, snack time, games, literacy time, computer-based enrichment along with supplemental activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.
Applications are taken throughout the year and students are chosen based on grant qualifications. Priority is given to those students on Free and Reduced Lunch, those students who have lower TCAP scores and are struggling academically, students chose who have social-emotional needs or have siblings who are a part of Big City University but is open to all students.
