Welcome to 5th Grade!
My name is Mrs. Wooten and I am so excited to be your teacher! I believe that learning is a lifelong endeavor, and I am excited to embark on this new school year with both you and your child!
I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio before graduating from Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Middle Childhood Education with concentrations in Language Arts and Social Studies. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree at Carson Newman University in Curriculum and Instruction. My husband, Jon, and I have two dogs; Oakley and Rorie. I love to read, watch the Buckeyes, and hang out with my family in my free time.
This will be my fourth year of teaching Language Arts and my first year teaching at North Lee. I previously worked in the Hamilton County School system, where I taught 7th grade reading for two years. Before that, I taught 6th grade English & Language Arts at Lake Forest Middle School. I am confident that I will be able to work with you and your child to prepare them for middle school!
I believe that reading and writing are the foundation of all learning, and I believe that it is a subject that is meant to be brought to life for children. I also believe that your child will be most successful if we work together to support them academically, socially, and emotionally. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am here to lift up and prepare your child for success in all areas of life.
This year will be one of growth for our class, and I look forward to both teaching and learning from your child during the upcoming school year!
